1. Who we are
This website is run by Terkim Global, a group of businesses that includes Terkim Homes & Properties and, in time, our counselling, construction, agriculture, logistics and technology ventures ("Terkim", "we", "us"). For the personal data described here, Terkim Global is the data controller.
You can reach us about anything in this policy. Email [email protected] or call +234 708 956 0595.
We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (the "NDPA") and the directions of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (the "NDPC").
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need. It falls into three groups.
Information you give us
- Requests and enquiries: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the business or estate you are asking about, and the message you write.
- Your account: your name, email address and password if you register with email; if you sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with us. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash.
- Anything you send us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages and times of your visit, kept in server and security logs.
- Cookies and similar storage that keep you signed in and remember your theme. See our Cookie Policy.
Information from others
- Google, when you choose to sign in with Google.
Counselling requests may reveal sensitive information about your health or family life. Please share only what you are comfortable with. We use it only to respond to you and arrange support, treat it as confidential, and process it on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not take card or bank details on this website, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
3. How we use it, and why
The NDPA requires a lawful basis for every use of personal data. Ours are below.
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to your request, enquiry or counselling booking | Steps you ask us to take before a contract; your consent |
| Create and secure your account, and keep you signed in | Performance of our agreement with you; our legitimate interest in security |
| Alert our team to a new request and keep a record of it | Our legitimate interest in answering you promptly |
| Prevent spam, fraud and abuse; keep logs of who changed what | Our legitimate interest in protecting the platform and our clients |
| Improve the site and fix faults | Our legitimate interest in running a reliable service |
| Send you news or offers | Your consent. You can opt out at any time |
| Meet legal, tax, regulatory and court obligations | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you without a person involved.
4. AI-assisted triage
To answer faster, we use AI services to write a one-line summary of each request, which helps our team see what you need and how urgent it is. The AI receives your name, the business you asked about and your message. It does not receive your email address or phone number.
The services we use are Google (Gemini) and Cloudflare (Workers AI), acting on our instructions as processors. A member of our team reads every request; the summary never decides anything on its own. If you would rather your request is not summarised this way, tell us when you send it and we will handle it by hand.
6. Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our providers, such as Google and Cloudflare, process data in other countries. When we transfer personal data abroad we do so only where the NDPA allows it: to a country or provider with adequate protection, under appropriate safeguards such as contractual terms, or with your consent.
7. How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Requests and enquiries | While we deal with them, then up to 24 months, unless a purchase, claim or legal duty needs them kept longer |
| Your account and profile | Until you ask us to delete it |
| Sign-in sessions | Up to 14 days, or until you sign out |
| Security and activity logs | As long as needed for security and accountability, then deleted |
| Records we are legally required to keep | For the period the law sets |
When the time is up we delete or anonymise the data.
8. How we protect it
- Encryption in transit: the whole site is served over HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed, never stored in readable form.
- Role-based access: staff only see what their role needs, and every change to the platform is written to an activity log.
- Uploaded files are kept in private storage.
- Regular updates and monitoring of the systems we run.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will tell the NDPC within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, and tell you without undue delay where the risk to you is high.
9. Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used (this policy);
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed;
- have your data deleted, where we no longer need it or you withdraw consent;
- restrict or object to our use of it, including for direct marketing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before;
- not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that significantly affects you.
To use any of these, contact us. Email [email protected] or call +234 708 956 0595. We may ask you to confirm who you are, and we will reply within 30 days. There is no charge unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.
10. Children
This website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Marketing
We only send you news or offers if you have agreed to receive them, or if you are an existing client hearing about something closely related. Every message tells you how to opt out, and you can also tell us at any time. Replying to a request is not marketing.
12. Links to other sites
This site links to services we do not run, such as WhatsApp and Google. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will give clear notice of any significant change. This version was last updated on 30 October 2026.
